Quilting with Scraps #2: pillow cases and shirts quilt - leftover fabric ideas, easy patchwork.

Making quilts with bedding as backing eliminates the hassle of dealing with seams. But what about pillowcases? Well, they can be transformed into yet another beautiful quilt! I recently embarked on a project where I dedicated a day to sorting through my pillowcase collection using my trusty scrap management system. The goal? To chop them into usable pieces for quilting. I have a penchant for square-in-a-square designs—they're not only aesthetically pleasing but also quick and easy to execute. With a bit of organization, you don't need much space to work wonders with them. I've documented my process in a video, showcasing how these seemingly ordinary pillowcases can be repurposed into something extraordinary. Interestingly, as I surveyed my finished quilts, I couldn't help but notice a recurring theme—blue dominates the color palette! It's not entirely surprising, considering it's the predominant hue in my scrap collection. So, expect to see more blue-themed creations in the pipeline!
