After making my back-to-basics blocks (squares and rectangles scrap buster 51) I decided to work on blocks I can also use as a border to add some interested as well as bring the top to the lap size. I used again a batch of half hexis from recycled shirt fabrics as a starter for that design. Once on design board, they do make nice flow on their own with many different layouts. But they definitely work great as borders. I used scraps from squaring up first part of the block to create adding tape strips and used them to finish off the second part of the block. Very little waste here and so much fun! And you can use any and all types of fabrics mixed together. Another design where everything goes together without planning.
