I'm excited to present my course, "Make Your Own Scrappy Quilted Kimono Top or Tunic." Designed by a quilter (not a seamstress!) for quilters, this course makes creating wearable art simple and enjoyable. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced quilter, you'll find the instructions easy to follow.
The top and tunic is designed to be loose fitting and comfortable.

Materials Needed:
- Muslin (or thin cotton)
- Fabric scraps or readymade blocks of any design
- Bed sheet or any large fabric piece for a prototype
- Readymade bias tape
- Paper for pattern making (tape together smaller pages or use a roll of packing paper)
- Standard quilting tools (cutting mat, rotary cutter, ruler) and sewing machine with straight and zigzag stitch.
- Thread 40wt and needles to match the thickness according to your machine requirement (I used size 90) for sewing pattern pieces together.
What You Will Learn:
- Drafting a kimono top or tunic pattern, including sewn-on top pockets
- Making string blocks and crumb/string blocks
- Sewing individual blocks on muslin for optimal results
- Using existing blocks to construct the garment
- Finishing all edges of the garment
